FAQs
We’ve gathered the most common questions riders ask about our tours, accommodations, horses, and what to expect on the trail. If you don’t see your answer here, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help.
No, not at this time.
Four to five hours of riding with a break for lunch.
This is a ride for experienced riders. We want Intermediate level riders. Riders need to be able to canter around the arena two times without stopping. Riders need to have an independent seat. Riders should have some experience riding in a group and have been riding for six years, riders should have some recent riding before coming.
We get English riders from all disciplines (Eventers, Hunter Jumpers, Dressage, Fox Hunters and Endurance and Trail Riders) that want to spend some time out of the arena and in nature. We also get riders that want to improve their knowledge and confidence riding out on the trail with us. We get groups of riders that all come together from their barn or from their foxhunt, we get girlfriends that come together and ride for the week (it is a great way to recharge your life at home!)
Yes! We have a fair amount of single travelers that come on the ride and end up meeting other like minded riders to go on adventures with. We can pair women traveling on their own, together, in a twin room.
No, we do not. We do stay in lovely accommodations along the way.
We usually ride in a minimum group of four riders and maximum of eight riders with two guides.
No, sorry. That is part of the trip, to ride our fabulous horses (many of which are for sale)!
Yes, this is an English ride, led by an Irishman!
If the rider can ride English, then yes! Meaning in an English saddle, shorten up those stirrups, ride with two hands and be able to put the horse between your seat, leg and hand and not a western horse, an English horse with a trot and canter, not a jog and a lope.
We use All Purpose English saddles. Most are Wintec saddles sizes 17” to 18.5” size seats.
May and June are lovely months as it often isn’t too hot and it is still green in the valley and the beach towns are quiet. If you want to have the best chance of sunny beach days, usually July, August, September are great for that.
